About Human Friends Organization (HFO)
Human Friends Organization was founded in Pakistan in 2003 by Sajid Christopher, a brave human rights defender and social activist committed to promoting peace, justice, equality, and the protection of vulnerable communities.
Since its establishment, HFO has been actively working for the promotion of human rights, interfaith harmony, freedom of religion or belief, social justice, education, women empowerment, youth development, humanitarian assistance, and community development throughout Pakistan. In 2011, Human Friends Organization International was established in the United States of America by Sajid Christopher to expand the organization’s international humanitarian, advocacy, and development initiatives.
Legal Status in Pakistan
Human Friends Organization is a non-profit, non-governmental, and charitable organization legally registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in Lahore, Pakistan, on 6 August 2003. The organization is also registered with the Punjab Charity Commission in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework governing charitable and nonprofit organizations in Punjab, Pakistan. HFO operates as an independent civil society organization dedicated to protecting human dignity, promoting equal rights, strengthening social inclusion, and supporting marginalized communities across Pakistan.

The organization has obtained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in the United States, allowing it to function as a tax-exempt charitable organization in accordance with U.S. nonprofit laws and regulations.
Through its national and international presence, HFO continues to strengthen global partnerships, expand humanitarian and development programs, and advocate internationally for human rights, peacebuilding, religious freedom, equality, and the protection of vulnerable communities.
